Question: Is 21 yrs!. old Too old to take up ballroom dancing for the 1st time!?
I am a 21!. yr!. old female, and all my life have wanted to take up dance classes and eventually compete (even if it be part time, not a proffession)!. I have always felt dancers are elegant and have a real finesse & natural grace about them!. I watch the proffessional competitions on the PBS channel, and it literally brings me to tears to see how beautiful these couples look!.

Is it too late to begin taking competitive dance classes for the first time in my life and have a realistic expectation of eventually competing with a partner!?

Unlike other dance genres, ballroom is enjoyable at any age!. I even know a few competitive dancers in their eighties and nineties, and saw one compete successfully at age 92!. I think that gives you a little leeway!.
Will you ever be a world champion!? Not likely, but then the chances of that aren't much so high for those who start when they're toddlers, either!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not at all!. Ballroom dancing is an art for any age, and most people do begin to learn ballroom at a later age!. Don't ever let anybody stop you, because it might be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

NO WAY is that to old do it and I amost quarentee you will never regret it ballroom dancing is poetry in motion good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com

21 is not too young!.!.!.Just look at "Dancing With The Stars" some of them were in their 60's and became excellent dancers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nope! Not at all, I've met alot of dances, both ballroom and ballet, who ahve started later, some a little later than you!. Jonathan Roberts, who is one of the pros on Dancing With The Stars started dancing at 21 at he won his first National Award 4 years later!. Go for it, just know you're gonna have to work a extra hard!. What's great about ballroom though is that, although it is rigorous and demands alot of adrenaline and cardio, it's something you can do well into your late 30's and still compete, with ballet not so much so it's so demanding on the body!. What I love about ballroom is you can pretty much do it anywhere, I find myself in supermarkets doing bachata and locksteps all the time!. LOL!Www@QuestionHome@Com
