This is what I do and I've been dancing for 14 years!. Streching is good, but what really helps is to strech after you take a hot shower or bath because your muscle will be warmed up from the hot water!. also start lifting weights, and concrete on legs and abbs, but work on arms as well!. Sit-ups are very important and if you can't get to a gym try push-ups!.

also if you're doing pointe walk around the house in your point shoes to try wearing them in, that helps a lot!.

And very important start streching your feet too, there are certain things you can buy to help with that or you can just practice pointing them and if you get someone to help you feet down to strech your arch that helps too!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Once you start your ballet classes you will get some ideas of what you need to do to do really well in the class!. Don't worry about doing too much ahead of time!. Running and stretching is good enough!. Eating healthy is beneficial too for any sport/dance!. : ) Sounds like you're doing all the right things!.
You could start to strenghten your ankles by going up and down in releve!. That's where you stand on the balls of your feet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just keep doing what you are doing!. Stretching is one of the things you do that is quite helpful to dance!. Make sure to do a variety of stretches: The butterfly, crunches, have one foot in front of the other then bend down and stretch, etc!.
Make sure to have fun while dancing!! Dancing is also about enthusiasm and dedication!.

Good luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stretching, a BUNCH of crunches and sit-ups- they help with your core so that you can balance easier!. Do lunges and resistance exercises for your legs- if you don't have strong legs you're pretty much screwed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Keep doing what you are doing! You will be fine!
But yes, streaching is good and a great tip in to bounce lightly as you streatch wich will help how far you can stretch!.!.!. oh and also familiarise yourself with some ballet so you will know what you are doing Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stretching, become super-limber!. Endurance in your muscles, holding them out and up!. Balance, too!.
