Question: I don't know dance terminology!.!.!. What does this mean!?
I'm on my school's drill team, trying to read some notes for a dance, but I can't teach it to myself because I don't know what these words mean, seeing as this is my first year on the team and I have never had any dance experience!.!.!.

Plie- means to bend and can be varied
ex!. Grand Plie-big bend and Demi Plie- small bend

Boxes- I assume you mean jazz square!.!.!.so in that case it is a step that makes a box with your feet!.

Chasse-is "step together step"

Passe- You are connecting your foot to your knee

The rest I do not know!.!.!.they are probably terms your teacher came up with o learned from her teachers!.

a passe is when you bring you foot to your knee I don't know if you are in ballet or what but in ballet the leg that's bend whould be turned out chasse is like skipping but you don't lift you legs very high and a plie is just bending you knees that's all in ballet the rest I don't know because I'm only a ballet dancer sorry I could not be more help p!.s I think some of that might be yoga =^!.!.^= Www@QuestionHome@Com

chasse-kind of a gallop heading toe ball heel and kissing you feet

passe-leg either turned out or in pointing the toe knee bent connecting to your standing leg at the knee or higher never lower
