It's never too late to start! however, don't expect to be as good as other people your age that have been doing it longer, at least not in the beginning!. you may get into it and find out that you have great raw talent and can advance quickly!.

ballet is a great "base" discipline (it transfers well into other disciplines), but you have to have a passion for it specifically to continue (my two cents)!.
jazz and modern are more "fun" in a sense because there aren't as many "rules" like ballet!.

my little story, i started ballet when i was four, loved it for a while!. however my body could not take the stress on my joints from turning out!. i then switched to jazz and modern, and had a great time learning to move a completely different way!. Ballet is very rigid at times, while modern/jazz are more free flowing!.

Just remember, you are starting Fresh! don't worry if things go slowly (which it may since your building muscle too), just have fun! Www@QuestionHome@Com

no its not too late to start you can never be too old to start something, just stretch everyday so you wont be overloaded with stuff that you arent flexible enough to do!. and maybe rent a video on dance/gymnastics so you will get a feel of what you will be learning so you wont be overwhelmed!. and you to be honest you will have to practice long and hard to probably be half as good as the other people but you eventually be at the same level!. so go for it and practiceWww@QuestionHome@Com

no it nver to late!.!. haha three days grace song!.!. anyways!. i say learn it your 14 not 50!. flexibilty can be worked on thats why you take the classes to help you to inprove or start on somthing new!. Do it, take dance its funn but i would choice jazz its fun!. Ballet is cool but its too slow for my taste!. you could do hip-hop that was funn for me!.!. hahaWww@QuestionHome@Com

It is never too late to start dance unless you want to go pro!. I think someone your age can start dance and pull it off!. Now you may not be the best theres ever been but that doesnt mattter!. Our studio offers adult classes and there is a OLD woman in tap!. She is retired and like old!. So a teenager should be able to pull it off if a retired old woman can dont ya think!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its never too late! My friend started at 15 and is being offered jobs by professional dance companies all over the country!. Don't let anyone tell you it's too late!. If your thinking of taking a ballet and jazz combo try modern or contemporary dance!. There both very expressive dances!. Good luck in your dancing!! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

NO! It is DEFINITELY NOT too late! If you work really hard, stretch a lot, and do strengthening exercises you will be fine! Just dedicate yourself and you can be great! I know an absolutely amazing dancer that didn't even start dance until she was 15! Now she dances a soloist with New York City Ballet! Just follow your heart and dreams and you can be awesome! Good luck! I wish you the very best!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

honestly something really good to start that your never to late for is competitive cheerleading!. its fun!. you have to be devoted to the sport tho!. i mean my practices are mon-fri 2:30 to 7:30!.!.!. that explains alot and on sunday our short days 2-5 altho it sounds like your doing to much you arnt!. in cheer you travel places to compete with other teams!. my team has made it to the national 6years in a row!. and won 4 out of those times!. were crazy god!. and most all star teams are!. look into it!. email me if you have any more questions!. i can help you for sureWww@QuestionHome@Com

14 is pushing it but if you work real hard you can do it, it will be hard at first but get better later on so don't give up!. good luck!
