Question: Can serious ballet dancers wear flip-flops!?
Sounds stupid but doesn't it wreck your feet and screw up your pointe work as it separates your 1st toe from the others!? Anyone know wether this is true or not!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Flip-flops ruin your arch and can certainly wreck your feet if you where them constantly!. I think it's fine if you wear them occasionally!. This is one thing my ballet teacher has constantly talked with me about!. She notices that I always either wear flip flops or very flat shoes!. She keeps telling me that I need to wear something with an arch in it!.

I'm sure flat shoes can't be good for your feet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, it does wreck your feet, BUT!. I know I'm not alone in this!. My big toe naturally points towards my second toe, which apparently messes up the shape of my foot (according to my instructor), so she told me to wear flip flops sometimes to keep that toe from pointing in so much!. also, in pointe shoes, I have to use a separator!.
So I guess it really depends on your feet!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

the only negative aspect of flip-flips is that they don't offer ANY support whatsoever for your feet, no matter who you are or what you do!. but, the 1st toe isn't separated as much as you think!.
when i was studying ballet, i wore them all the time!. it was a nice relief after cramming my feet into pointe shoes for 2 hours!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

flip flop xD
It's funny when people call them that!.

I was told that they wreck your feet because there is no shape to the sole of them, no support!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't see why not, i need to use gel spacers to space out my toes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
