Question: How to become good at belly dancing !?!
I am taking belly dance classes twice a week!.
I practice one hour daily on my own also!.

It is my goal to get really good at belly dance by the end of the year!.

What else can I do to help me get good at it !?
Or even just to get more control over my body !?

Are there any other dances that will help me move my hips better !?

How about yoga !?
Hula hooping !?

Thanks =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I also belly dance, and unfortunately it's a unique style that depends on muscle isolations and muscle memory!. I would say Hula is probably the closest thing that may help!.

The only thing you can do is practice practice practice!. The more you do it the easier it becomes!. A lot of the moves are complex and it takes a while for you to condition your body to move the way you want!. Don't get frustrated because for some people it takes years!. My teacher has been dancing for years and is still learning! (Even though she is an acclaimed performer!.)

also because you body is not used to the specific moves, your movements may not be as big as your teachers or others!. Don't worry your muscles will stretch and be conditioned and before you know it you will be doing it without thinking!

You may also want to consider Egyptian (which is similiar to Lebonese) or restaurant style (known in the US as Cabaret Style)!. These styles are freer and more flowing than Tribal!. I find Tribal to strict for me, I prefer egyptian, but all the basic moves are the same!.

Keep dancing, it may take more than the end of the year but I am sure that you will see a big difference between now and then!Www@QuestionHome@Com
