Question: What's an easy way to get down into the splits!?
i'm really close like inches away but i can't get myself to go down into the splits! i don't want to hurt myself but i need to do the splits for a lyrical dance i'm doing!.!.!. help!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Make sure your muscles are warm - it is easiest after a run or 20 mins cardio excersize - then lower yourself into a runners lunge, and slowly straighten your front leg til youre in the splitsWww@QuestionHome@Com

a good way to get your splits better is to do some other stretches also!. just doing the splits won't necessarily help too much!. you could also try putting your front foot on something a little elevated, so it might push it down farther!. but you have to make sure your muscles are warm when you stretch!. when you're down in the splits (or as close as you can get to the splits), stretch forward and back, and sit there and distract yourself with a book, tv show, movie, talking to someone, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If your not already doing it, do a LOT more inner thigh, hamstring, and quad stretches!. you'll be amazed how well it works!. Then again you dont want to over-stretch!. I'm not sure how far off your dance is till you have to do it, but if its pretty close, you may just have to keep trying your best and just go with what you have!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You just reallly have to stretch!. Sit in straddle or frog position whenever you can!. also, if you go into center splits (as far as you can) and then lean forward and rest on your elbows, that really stretches some thigh muscles!. Just keep practicing/stretching, you'll get it!Www@QuestionHome@Com
