I was 13 when I first wanted to take ballet!.
I talked to my studio about it and I couldn't be in a class for my age!.!.!.I had to be in a class with 5 and 6 year olds to learn the basics first for about 4 months, then I could move on to a 7-10 years old class, and then to more advanced classes!.
That's probably how most studios would handle a situation like that so I'm sure your studio would let you do the same thing, or something like it!. :)
No age is too late! If you want to learn ballet bad enough, then do whatever it takes!.
Trust me!.!.!.I hated when I was in younger classes, but I was dedicated and it'll be worth it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go for it! I was in a very similar situation, I danced when i was younger and then quit!. I went back to ballet at 13, and was in a class with other girls who were my age and were also just starting ballet, so they were at my same level!. Yes, sometimes when i went to auditions it was weird being alongside girls who were the same age as me but far beyond my skill level!. But just hold your head high, last year despite my low skill level I was able to get a part in my studios production of the Nutcracker!. It is defiantly not to late for you! If you really want it, and work hard you can still go far!. Going into an intense program will also help you!. Good luck! I hope you do great!Www@QuestionHome@Com

of course! i started when i was 13!. my ballet teacher started when she was 14 and she worked hard and was dedicated so she got her pointe shoes!. I'm going en pointe and Ive been doing ballet for about 2 1/2 years!. if your committed to this, then take about 1-3 classes a week and i recommend purchasing classical ballet technique book!. it shows u the positions, pictures, and terms of ballet!. it really helps bcuz i had a hard time getting the hang of terms!. good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

no, you're not too old!. i've known people to start ballet at 17, and they still did fine!. if it's a really competitive type thing, like you want to do it professionally, just take a lot of classes to get to the level you need to be by the time you need to audition in a few years!. if you're doing simply because you want to know how to do ballet, starting at any age is perfectly fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your never too old to start ballet! If you want to try it!.!.!.try it!. You could take beginner classes!. If you feel awkward being in a class by yourself, ask a friend to join!. It is so much fun and a skill that can come in handy one day!. In about 5 or so years if you keep at it, you can join pointe, which is even better!.
Good Luck!

You are never to old to dance!. Dancing comes from your heart and if you have had the desire all these years, then by all means go for it!. It sounds like the people that are telling you that you are to old probably don't have any dreams of their own!.
Life is to short not to take every chance you can!.
Good Luck with whatever you decide!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i started when i was 15 so that's older than you are now!. i'd say go for it because you'll regret it later if you don't!. just look for teen beginner classes!. good luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Though you are not as flexible as you were at five, you are able to learn ballet at 14!. Not all professional ballet dancer began their career as toddlers!. It will require commitment on your part to stretch those muscles!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
