Question: Does this mean I'm not a good dancer!?
We were doing a jazz dance to "thriller" today, and my teachers split us into 3 groups-most adnaced to least advanced and I was in the 3rd group! I'm 14! I know I wasn't just overlooked because I saw her look at me a few times and there's only like, 15 of us in the group!. Looking at myself in the mirror, I think I looked fine and was getting into it but not too much!.!.!.this usually doesn't happen!. Does this mean I'm not a good dancer!? And any ideas what I could do to improve in jazz!? Any advice will do!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It probably doesn't mean that you're a bad dancer, just that the others are more advanced than you!. Or maybe you were doing the steps perfectly, but you had no facial expressions!. Dance teachers look at your face, too!. You have to look good on a stage, not just get the steps right!. Keep working at it, you'll get there eventually!. I don't think your teacher should be doing that anyways!. Some teachers think that it'll make you work harder, but I think that it's wrong!. But I can't help it, haha!. I hope I helpedWww@QuestionHome@Com

The other students may have some experience from private lessons!. In any case, you're there to learn, so don't worry about not knowing how at the beginning of the class!. Hopefully, the teacher will show you some steps!.

To improve, practice at home listening to the drum beat and taking a step with each beat instead of just moving to the melody line!. also, do some exercises such as yoga to be more limber, as well as some strength-building exercises!. Even exercises with small hand weights (1 to 10 lb!.) will add to your general attractiveness on stage!. That's true for both men & for women!. Even walking, hiking, & biking will add to the beauty of the legs!.

Hang in there & enjoy!. After all, next time you won't be the total beginner!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, you could just practice more!.

but maybe she was putting you in that group to help lead the people that weren't that advanced!. that's probably what happened!. ;DWww@QuestionHome@Com
