Question: I'm sore how to ease the pain!?
I was in the splits and I'm a ballerina so I have to but now my legs are vary sore and I can't do the splits at all can you halp me thanksWww@QuestionHome@Com

I am surprised that no one has said this yet!. The BEST way to prevent being sore the next day is warming down!. Everyone warms up, but most people forget to warm down, and it is just as important!.

Stretching getting your muscles to cool down SLOWLY is key to ensuring that you keep your body in prime condition!.

You wouldn't walk into dance class, put your stuff down, then drown down into the splits immediately, or throw a grande jete without warming up, would you!? I would hope that you would take the time to warm up properly so that you can do the splits or a jete, and you should do the same to warm down!.

As for you being sore right now, the key is to KEEP ON STRETCHING, but know your limits at the same time!. When you are sore and not cautious of your boundaries is when you are prone to injury!.

i was always told to soak in epsom salt!. i'm assuming osmosis has something to do with it!. i know the magnesium is good for reducing inflammation and is typically used in bath salts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

my recommendation: don't quit stretching just because you're sore!. that can cause injuries!. do the splits every other day!. the inbetween days!.!.!.!.just do some other stretches that simply prepare you for the splits!.!.!.straddle, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe put a heating pad on your sore areas to relax the muscle!. Or maybe run hot water on a wash cloth and apply that to your sore spots!. You can also try using ice as well!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
