it's definately not too late to start!. if you are extremely determined and focused on dancing then you can really succeed!. it REALLY depends on alot to determine how long it will take to dance en pointe!. theres not a magic number or date!. it's when your ankles and feet are strong enough and you have good technique + alot of other things!.

i know people that have danced for years and still were never en pointe!. but one of my friends took a beginner summer class for the first time ever!.!.and she is ALREADY en pointe after three months of dancing!. but she practices day & night and does soo many excercises and stretches!.

my advice is just to go into it looking to have fun and enjoy dancing!. you may or may not reach pointe but it shouldn't really matter as long as you love what you're doing:]Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is never too late to start ballet (unless you're like older than 90 and you're seriously crippled)!. Because you've taken yoga and can almost do splits, that will help you perhaps progress faster!. I dont know if you'll ever be able to go on pointe though because that takes years of training and hard work and you need to be super strong!. There is no magic number of years where all of a sudden, you get put on pointe!. Those who dance ballet en pointe are usually aiming to become professionals (and I really don't want to discourage you because I think there are always exceptions to the norm and you could be one) and the road to a professional career usually takes the dancer to a prestigious school in a city (like School of American Ballet in NYC for me) at the age of 12!. But, definitely take ballet and work as hard as you can and who knows!.!.!.you could be the world's next greatest dancer - reach for the stars and good luck!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's never too late to start dancing!. At my studio we have an adult/teen class for beginners and we have adults who have no dancing background who come!. So it's not too late for you either!. And you don't have to be super skinny to do ballet!. Some of the best dancers I have known have not been super thin!.
If you work really hard and strengthen your ankles, you could be on Pointe within a year and half or two!. Your instructor will let you know when he/she thinks you're ready!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well start as its not too late!. Perhaps to late to be proffesional but It all depends what grade you start on!. It can take anything from 1year to 7 years to get on pointe but with no dance experiance it may take a while i'm afraid!. Please don't rush grades as you need to learn tecnique before going on pointe!. Good Luck!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
