Question: Do you start getting used to the pain during pointe, when!?

yes, in time, you do get used to the pain!. In the meantime, this sounds gross but if you use Preparation H (yes the hemrohiod cream) on your toes it will numb them!. It is a life saver!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It all depends all the person and their tolerance with pain!. If you hav the right kind of toe pad, that should take away some of the pain, and then it just takes time to get use to being on your feet that way!.

Just warming up outside of class in your pointe shoes will help reduce the pain while you are actually in class!. Just like roll up to the top of the box and do basic barre work in them, and in no time you should feel more comfortable in them and the pain should be less!. But there might still be some, because I'm sure that the pain never fully goes away, but that's good, cause it shows your body that you are working!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Trust me, you get used to it after a few months or so and then all you want to do is be on pointe ALL of the time! TO help it along, make sure you have proper padding, ouch pouches work best for beginners, and use Bunheads foot mist on your toes before you put your toe pad on, it kind of numbs your toes, making it easier to be en pointe!. Good Luck, i love Pointe!

It took me 2 years to get over the pain my mom dad and sister thought I was crazy for putting myself in that much pain but I told them I loved it too much to let pain get in the way of my career it hurt so bad I all most cried on stage now I have Gaynor Mindens and I don't even have to wear toe pads they feel so good they don't hurt at all now =^!.!.^=Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, when you first have them it really hurts!. But after a few weeks it stops hurting!. For me, it's about 5 weeks!. But it really depends on how long you dance in them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
