Question: Do you think ballet is too inaccessible!?
we all know its one of the most beautiful things to watch ever, but its a little hard to get into it if youre not 6!.
i went to ballet classes until i was about 8, then went through a tomboy phaseand quit!. ive recently started again at 15, but in a kind of evening class environment, not at all like a "real" class!.
i looked at a class with people my age, but theyve all been going since they were about 3!. i think i speak for a lot of people when i say i dont want to throw myself in with a load of uber experinced girls who are about to go en pointe!.
i think what ballet needs is a set of classes for teenagers who are just starting, with a possibility of moving up to normal classes, getting en pointe etc!.

wow, this was long!. what do you think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

In fact, most studios do! Do you go to a studio!? They usually offer what is called a Teen Ballet class, or Adult Ballet class!. These are classes specified for newbees who want to get into dance!. Its like a child class, but instead its full of adults who are either getting back into ballet or just starting for the very first time!. Take my advice: find yourself a "real class" at a studio and take a teen or adult ballet class, you will feel better about yourself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

actually, a lot of studios do do that!. unfortunately i go to a small studio so i have to take it with kids my own age that are really good!. if you don't have the option of taking a beginner teen class, i definitely recomend you take it with younger kids!. it's almost impossible for me to keep up with the other kids in my class!.

best of luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

As a dancing teacher I would absolutely love to help older beginners learn ballet!. It sounds like they could be really fun classes!. Unfortunately I only have spaces on saturdays and most teenagers who phone me to enquire aren't willing to give up their saturdays!. If anyone is interested My Dancing school is Stella Palmer dancing school in Princes Risborough in Bucks!. England!. Look me up in phone book or Yellow pages!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

quite a lot of schools do do adult or teenage classes for beginners!. If you can't find a school that does take classes for teens then try taking some private lessons for a bit before jumping into the normal group lessons!.
You'll soon catch up!. I don't know where you live but there is this really good dance school in hampshire where they take tons of teenagers just learning to dance!. The link to their website is below!.
hope this helps
