keep goign to class try your hardest
prove yourself them you can go on pointe
dont nag your teacher though
when she thinkgs your ready, your ready
it might take you one more year
:]
if you go on pointe to early your feet could get damaged becasuse since your so young, yoru feet arent done growing yet and pointe shoes will hurt themWww@QuestionHome@Com

Your teacher is right to stop you going on pointe!. At 12 your feet won't have stopped growing yet and Your ankles and knees and back will be nowhere near strong enough yet!. It doesn't matter how long you've been dancing you could still seriously injure yourself going on pointe too early!. Grow up more and respect the fact that your ballet teacher will know when you're ready better than you!. I was dancing from 2 and didn't start pointe work till I was 13 -14 and starting intermediate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with the others that your teacher will know best!. Too many schools are putting girls on pointe way too young (a school in my area has 8 year olds on pointe!!)!. 12 is a good age if you're physically ready!. You are probably close!. You can certainly mention to your teacher that you are interested in trying pointe, when she thinks you are ready!. That way she'll know you really want to, but you're not pushing her!. Good luck, I hope it happens soon for you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can't "convince" you teacher that you're ready!. Just practice!. There's MANY factors that go into this: Age (you're 12, that's pretty young), Experience (you have that, so this isn't an issue), Strength (can u hold posses on releve!?), Technique (even if u have enough experience, u may still not be the best), and MANY more!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

you really have to wait until your teacher is sure!.
as youre 12, your feet could still be growing!. its important that you only start pointe once your feet are fully formed to prevent damage to bones etc!. your feet may be quite strong, but please wait until your teacher lets you!. by the sounds of it it wont be too long =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should wait for your teacher to put you en pointe, she knows what's best for you so don't try to go ahead of your capability!. If you were really ready for pointe, you'd be up there already!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Trust your teacher!. Please don't damage your feet by putting them en pointe when they're still growing!. How old were your sisters when they started pointe!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
