Its easy, don't worry about it
let me tell now

Take a Wet sponge or cloth (IF It is not wet then wet it by clean water)!. Next gently wipe the dirty areas several times!. Then put some soap on the cloth or sponge and scrub the dirty areas!. Rinse the sponge or cloth and re-wipe the areas you just scrubbed!.
You can repeat it again if it is more dirty!.
then leave shoes to dry, it will take several hours!.!.!. then open (if it is close then open :-)your compact or jar of toe shoe makeup!. With your pointer finger rub a little dab of pointe show makeup onto your finger!. Then rub the makeup on the dirty areas of the shoe!. Gently rub the make-up across the area making sure to cover the dirt and blend it in with the satin!. Repeat this process until the shoe is covered and looks perfectly polished again!.
Let the shoe sit out in the open air and dry for a few hours before putting it on or dancing in it!. REMEMBER that don't wet your shoe so much and add shoe paint slowly that it dose not look overpainted!.!.!. otherwise then don't say that i told wrong tips!.!.!.
AHH I HATE DANCING!.!.!. but i think i helped you!.!.

I've never really had much problem with this because when I needed a clean pair of pointe shoes, like for a performance, I wore a pair until ideally broken in (one class usually did it) and then put them aside for performance!. So, they never got dirty to the point where I couldn't wear them for performance - or in your case - an exam!.
However, you can take a soft cloth and very carefully with a just a bit of water brush them off a bit!. I'd be realy careful about soap, since soap can leave a sticky residue that will actually attract dirt!.

You might want to be careful about cleaning fluid since that can discolor the shoes or even loosen the adhesive with which they are made!.

So, if I were you - take a pair of shoes, wear them just to the point where they are broken in and then set them aside for an exam or a performance!.

and somtimes I have cut off an old pair of tights that I can slip over my shoes when I am wearing them, but so that the toe end is still exposed!. This seems to keep the satin clean but allows me to dance in them!.
I have also found this invaluable for keeping canvas flats clean!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i usually dont clean my pointe shoes since the liquids could change the shape of the shoe and then they would be ruined!. however you can buy like a special vanilla colored spray paint that will not change the shoe!. just stuff the shoe with newspaper and be sure not to spray the bottom or the boxWww@QuestionHome@Com

i personally use calomine lotion all over my pointes, which makes them dull and more of a pale whity pink!.!.!.it gets dirt off really well but of course it all depends on whether your teacher minds!.!.!.i think it looks nice! the royal ballet do it apparantly!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
