Question: Big ego problem!!!?
okay, well i have a big ego nd i tend to tell myself that i am the best hip-hop dancer in my school{{which i am}}, and i take ballet as a class credit at my school!.
First i took dance tech 1, and now for my sophmore year im going to take dance tech 2!. I am really mad because our teacher told us that we have to wear BALLET STUFF, like leotards, jazz pants, and ballet shoes!. UUUGHHHH!!!
I really dont like to wear that kind of stuff and i am used to dancing in sweat pants and baggy shorts and sweaters!
I am thinking about dropping the class because of this!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Listen to me when I tell you this - ballet is about discipline and respect!. Wearing the clothing your teacher wishes shows your discipline towards ballet, and respect for your teachers wishes!. Saying you may quit just because you have to wear a leotard shows both your lack of discipline and respect!. I'm incredibly surprised you weren't wearing "ballet stuff" for your first year of ballet!
By the way, jazz pants are not ballet stuff!. Your teacher seems quite relaxed!. Count yourself lucky you won't be in a class with just a leotard and tights, nothing else! (Not even underwear or bra!) Count yourself even luckier its not a leotard, and no tights, instead plain white socks, and no underwear or bra!
What you have been wearing to ballet class is not appropriate!. There is a reason dancers wear the leotards and tights!. It is to see the lines of the body, and to see if the technique is correct!. Get rid of those baggy pants and suck it up!
If you truly have found a passion for ballet, or at least if it is helping you with your hip hop, stick with the classes, please!. I think that you do have a big ego!. That's o!.k, because you have confidence!. which is important in dance!. However, get off of that high horse and listen to your teacher show some respect!Www@QuestionHome@Com
If you care about dance and any career coming out of it, I would suggest you stay in the class!. Anywhere you go, they will make you take ballet!. I promise!. And to top it all off they will not be as lenient in their dress code!. I would take advantage of this class with the determination to get the most you can out of it to become an even better dancer!. Okay first off-don't tell yourself that! Because you never know who might be a new student at your school!. Remember, there will ALWAYS be someone better than you and worse than you!.

if you want to be a dancer you are going to need to follow the instructions given by your teachers!. you are clearly not dedicated to being a dancer if you would quit a class jusst because of what you wear!!!!!!!!! Do waht the teacher says and dont drop out show your dedication!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
I really don't think you should quit after coming all this way! You should just try to dance in ballet stuff! You will get used to it in no time! I believe in you!

You know what I thought about that too!. I dance so much better when I am comfortable and I do NOT look good in the tights and the leotard and the shoes!. It turns out that that outfit teaches you discipline and it's supposed to help the teachers too!. Dont you think it would be difficult if they had to coreograph a peice and all they can see is reds whites pinks purples blues and all those colors!? They need to have some order and that would be to have all the girls in the same colors and have them looking the same so they can focus on them!. Good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com
