Hip Hop is like free style so your doing good there!.

There are many things that you can do!. I teach dance at my local high school!. I suggest going to the library and taking out a book on basic ballet and jazz!. Another good topic to look for would be the fundamentals of dance!. Read the books all the way through, even if they appear to be a "kid's" book!. A good book on dance (as well as an instructional video, also available at our library in my town) will explain the various positions and basic movements of dance!. In a nutshell, there are basic positions for arms and legs, turns, jumps, and floor work!. If you play another sport, continue stretching the way the sport expects you to!. Spend at least an hour each day stretching to improve flexibility!. Make sure to stay in a stretch for longer than you think!. It takes a certain amount of time to allow your muscles to become loose enough to get anything out of the stretch!. Always warm up before stretching and dancing to avoid tearing or stressing your muscles!. A short jog or other cardio activity will do!. Make sure to get your heart rate up without stressing your muscles too strenuously!. It is hard to explain dance without pictures, so I strongly suggest going to the library, even a child's dance video will get you started!. Every dance move in existance started with the basics!. also, wear supportive shoes, like running shoes, until you build up ankle strength!. Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi,
can I suggest that you watch a movie and try to learn a dance from that to learn new moves and to practise!. Or if you have any friends that like to dance you could make a dance together to learn new moves from each other!. And make sure you pick a song you like that has a good beat!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

okay um i'm 13 and ive been dancing since I was 5!. If you started at a dancing school you would probably fit in to hip-hop of contempry!. it's full on and you need to give 100% all the time!. Some things you could do in ya room!. ummm!. well instead of just randomly busting out; try and coregrapg your own dance then practise it!.This will increase your ability to remember steps and moves, help your co-ordination and simply keep you fit!. Hope this was helpfulWww@QuestionHome@Com

OMG, I am at UNCW with the Carolina Ballet right now for their ballet summer intensive! I really think that you should either take beginning classes at a nearby studio or buy some fun tapes if you don't want to be in a class with other people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, if i'm nearing any recitals or performances, i just practice that!. Any strength training, or stretching is always important!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
