whoa hold up there sister!. You first of all should not be trying to do pointe with lack of supervision from a trained expert, like a teacher!. You also need to find out if you are even ready to be on pointe yet!. Two years of ballet is usually not enough to go on pointe yet!. I would recommend you get into classes through a reputable dance school and request financial aid!. But if you really want to take the risk of learning pointe online www!.youtube!.com would be your best bet!. (if you can afford pointe shoes you probably can afford a reduced priced class with financial aid!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is not a great idea to get online pointe lessons!. You should get a real instructor that knows a lot about pointe!. I don't think you should go on pointe after 2 years of ballet unless you have really strong feet!. I have been in ballet for 5 years and not on pointe yet!.

reasons for not going on pointe- Not strong enough feet and could permanently injure your feet!. You don't have the right posture!. You can't do a full plie without falling over!.

Reasons for not getting online help- They could teach you the wrong info, you could train your feet the wrong way and again hurt them, also who knows is they have ever taken a ballet class!.

I know this sounds cruel, but it is for your safety!.

Good luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is something you DO NOT want to do on your own as you could damage your ankles, toes, knees, etc!. I'm very old school when it comes to ballet and pointe work!. And frankly I don't trust the youtube videos where pointe work is concerned!.

Plus there is the cost of the shoes!. Pointe shoes are not something you want to do on the cheap, and bear in mind they need to be replaced regularly!.

Perhaps what you want to is look for free programs in dance in other disciplines!. Perhaps there are teachers at your school who also teach dance!? Or you can look into organizations that teach dance!.

Trust me, I know of what I speak!. I trained in ballet for 8 years but had to give it up due to the expense!. Since then I have done a variety of dance styles: medieval, renaissance, contra, english country, scottish country, american ballroom, latin, east coast swing, west coast swing, lindy hop and bellydance!. And I love them all!.

Having said that if ballet is truly your passion, what you want to do more than anything else then you will have to work at finding a means to get your training!. If you are really good you can get scholarships at reputable dance schools!.

Best of luck!. (and go to the forum on the last link - they may have better ideas than what you'll get here)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Teaching yourself pointe!? NOT A GOOD IDEA!. It's like asking for a toe/ankle injury!. I love dancing too, I know how you feel wanting to dance all the time!. But please do not try to teach yourself pointe!. It is so easy to get hurt and the doctors' bills will be more expensive than dance lessons!.

Please listen to the advice you are given on here!Www@QuestionHome@Com
