It is actually best not to practise too much ballet without the supervision of your teacher!. This is especially if you want to be a professional ballet dancer!. Bad habits are too easily picked up!. Basic ballet excersises should be fine, if done with great care!.

The best things for you to do would be gentle conditioning and stretching!. Stretching daily is an essential, especially over summer with no classes!. Make sure to warm up before hand!. For ballet, you do not want to build up bulky muscles, so try to find conditioning excersise that suit your needs!.

You may like to buy instructional ballet excersise videos, like NYC ballet workout, which combine ballet and excersise!. also try pilates and yoga!.

So this should keep you stretched out and flexible!. As for the actual dancing, try to brush up on your theory!. Buy a ballet dictionary or use resources online!. Borrow books on ballet from the library!. This will keep your brain active and ensure you do not forget what you are taught!.

Of course you can also take summer classes at other studios, as suggested above!. This would be extremely beneficial!.

I just have one concern!.!.!. you say you take 2 classes a week of ballet, equating to 2 hours a week!. For an advanced ballet student who wants to be a proffesional ballet dancer, this is not too good!. You need to look into taking ballet much more frequently!. Maybe try looking at other schools!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

some studios offer summer classes so maybe you could consider dancing somewhere else just for the summer!.!.!. i don't know, just an idea if you have that option!. other than that i'd say just practice what you already know at home and do all your normal stretches and exercises!. you might not get better but at least you won't be out of practice when summer's over!.

best of luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

well seeing that you are an advanced ballet student and want to be a professional ballet dancer i would suggest that you continue on with your class work!. i would assume that you are taking exams so what better way to do everything at once!. while you are doing your exercises and still training you will also be memorizing your exam work!. hope that helps!. you exam or class work is done for a reason and each exercise works different muscles so i think that would be your best shot!. your class work will have you using every muscle in your body! happy dancing and good luck!.

PS i admire your determination to continue!. shows dedication to what you love! =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

hi!. im a dancer also!. and i had to stop dancing for 6months cuz of my back injuries and 2months of stop dancing becuz of the car accident that i had!.!. for me!.!. to catch up!.!.
i went to classes regularly, put on pointe shoes and just keep doing the combinations and exercises we do in class, and crunches and stuff for the muscles!.!.
also!.!. during summer!. you could take workshops or intensives if your studio offers them!. and most of the studios offer summer classes also!.
hope you catch up!. good luck =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

tondus for 16 minsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Are there any other summer classes you can take at other ballet schools!? If not just practice what you have learned at home everyday!. Stretch and work on technique everyday and you should be OK for when you classes start again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
