Are you learning to bellydance from a professional instructor!? If not you should really seek one out!. It is very difficult to assess your problem without actually seeing what you are doing!. If you have an instructor they will be able to better assess the situation since they can actually observe what you are doing!. A headache is certainly not normal if a back bend is performed properly but alignment and positioning are key to performing the movement correctly!. You may be leaning back too far, you could be cutting off the circulation by scrunching your neck and pinching off your blood supply, you could staying in the position too long, you may be entering into the movement to quickly causing a pressure change in your circulation and yet not allowing enough time for your system to accommodate the change, etc!.!.!. there are a great many reasons why you may experience headaches with this!. A back bend is however and more advanced movement and is not appropriate for a dancer of 5 months regardless of ethnic background!. I would focus on learning the more important movements first and perfecting your technique before really attempting more back bends!. Make sure when you do start practicing and learning back bends that you do so under the supervision of a qualified professional instructor who can help you address any issues you may be having!. You may also want to discuss the issue with you doctor who will be able to help you to determine any other factors that may be contributing to your headaches!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's difficult to advise you on what you might try differently without knowing just what you are currently doing while you do a backbend!. I haven't had this sort of problem when doing backbends myself, nor does my teacher, so I don't think that it's generally normal!. You could try to adjust your body position before you start, and be careful about how you are using your neck to hold your head!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How long are you staying in the pose !? Maybe cut it abit short- or perhaps you are snaping your head up too quickly- I'm not seeing you in action so it's hard to say like this!.
Becareful with your back- gain flexibility with yoga and make sure that you are bending your knees to go down!.
I suggest Shira- she's wonderful
here is the sight!.
