Well if your looking to perform ever your current choice of costuming probably won't cut it!. The only style that really utilizes props (other than finger cymbals which you should learn anyways no matter what style you like) is American Nightclub/Cabaret and it's subsidiary styles!. Tribal style occasionally utilizes a prop but not much!. Additionally many folkloric dances of any style utilize a prop!. Based on your preference for using small amounts of space I would guess you would probably like Egyptian most since they tend to dance pretty much in one spot and not cover any floor space!. Utilizing the hips to accentuate drum rhythms is common in all forms however using the hips only to accompany a drum rhythm is not typical of most middle eastern styles!. The use the hips to accentuate not only rhythm but also melody as well!. The Egyptians are notorious for slipping seamlessly between the two!. Western styles focus heavily on the hips following to the drum however!. I'd suggest listen to music that's specific to certain styles and seeing if any of those styles speak more to you tahn others!. For example the music used for Egyptian and Turkish are quite different!. Turkish music has a completely different structure!. You may find that you don't like one type of music at all!. You may also want to watch performances by dancers who are (or were) considered the top in their styles!. For example watch Samia Gamal, Tahiya Carioca, and Naima Akef for Egyptian Style!. Watch dancers from styles your interested in and see which performances you find more interesting!. This will give you a clue as to what your more likely to enjoy!. Many dancers do not get interested in specializing in a specif style until they have several years of bellydance under their belts (usually American nightclub)!. If you really want to specialize early make sure you use other factors than what you currently do since that will likely change with time and experience!. You may not always have the same preferences as you do now once you've become more confident and learned a wider repertoire!. We all evolve as dancers and change over the course of our education and professional (or hobby) careers!. Don't feel like you have to box yourself in just yet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you prefer to not use props and keep your costumes fairly basic, perhaps Tribal Fusion or American Tribal might be styles you could look into trying!. Egyptian style is more inward focused so the dancer generally doesn't require alot of floor space!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Combine all sorts and make up your own style, it'd be really original, and nobody would have one like you, and you are not restricted to one type of outift, dance style, music, or action!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
