Question: Dance School Advice!?!?!?!?!?
Hi, I live in Melbourne, Australia and I was thinking after I left school that I would open my own dance school!. I'm planning on taking a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Major in Dance) at Deakin Uni or a Diploma of Dance at Box Hill Institute!.

Now, after I finish my degrees/course, what happens next!? How will I be able to open my own dance school and how much would it approximately cost!? I really need some information and advice!.

Thanks!. oxWww@QuestionHome@Com

Why not try to get into the Victorian College of the Arts in St!. Kilda Road!? In order to teach dance satisfactorily you need to have experienced some time, I might suggest a couple of years at least, as a professional dancer!. Then again, it does depend on what standard you are aiming to teach!. Dancing is not just about putting steps together, it is to do with what those steps are saying!. Expression is not just putting on a smile as people often seem to think, it is about feeling the movement!. You ask yourself, what does that movement do for me or what can I give that movement!. This is called artistry and can only develope with practice and experience!. If you want to do well in your teaching then you have to put a lot into it beforehand!. You will get more out of it and so will your students!. Realize also that if you don't have a good background you could be doing harm physically and mentally to your students!.
If you would like to contact my ex wife Janet Karin , who teaches at the Australian Ballet School, she might be willing to advise you!. You could also contact me again at bpalet70@gmail!.com if you like!. Hope this helps a little bit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
