Position:Home>Dancing> Socks in ballet class?Question: Socks in ballet class!? Tomorrow is my first ballet class, my step mom goes to her pointe class in the same studio, and between her and my class we have an extra hour!.
Since I don't have my ballet shoes yet I was going to go pick them up between our classes, but I don't think I will have time to sew the elastic!. So my question is!.!.!. If I don't get them sewed in time, would it be so horrible to wear ankle socks to my first class!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: this is what i do when i go to my dance rehearsals for show choir and productions at my school!. just roll up your socks until the arch of your foot ( or until you reach the middle of your feet)!. By doing that, you won't slip nor have your feet feel like they're sticky!. the bottom part of your foot that is revealing works like a stop friction kind of things!. oh any sock will do ^_^Www@QuestionHome@Com When I was dancing on B'way and taking class with Finis Jhung or David Howard I would wear wool sock for the barre!. The wool would get my feet warmed up in a hurry and I could feel the floor during the barre!. Rosen would well with the wool better than cotton!. After the barre I would put on my ballet shoes!. In the class there were dancers who wore socks over their shoes fro the whole class!. As a Teacher who had his own studio I would excuse my student if they could could not get shoes immediately!.!.
