keep your mouth shut and your eyes open!. Especially for your first couple of classes!.

each teacher and each studio have their own set of rules and customs (both written and unwritten)!. Pay attention and try to figure out the way the class is structured socially and what kinds of rules customs and etiquette seem to be adhered to!. Since you will be in an adult beginners class, where most of the students will not know much be sure to also pay attention to the more advanced students!.

Basic ballet class manners are:

Don't talk unless it is to ask a question or clarify an instruction!. even when asking questions, keep talking to a minimum!. Some teachers are more lenient about this than others

Stand up straight, avoid poses that look bored or snobby!. I!.e!. leaning against the barre or the wall, hands on hips, staring into space!.

Don't chew gum

Stay out of the way of the other dancers and the teacher

Be patient and wait your turn!.

If you havent already done so you should call ahead and ask about the dress code!.

Another thing is that you should wait on the private lessons until you have a few group lessons under your belt!. Private lessons are really only helpful if you already know where your weaknesses are!.

This all might sound very scary, but don't worry!. you are taking a beginning class, people will expect you to know nothing!. It sounds like you are overthinking this, Just relax and have fun!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1) arrive on time!. Don't be late!
2) be prepared!. come with a pair of ballet shoes!. If you don't
have any, come with a comfortable pair of shoes that aren't
sneakers!. (i!.e!. flats)
3) don't try to wear something sexy just to impress the others!.
the teacher might get angry that youre not wearing proper
dance clothes!. If you have a leotard, WEAR IT with a skirt
and tights/ leggings!. If you DON'T have a leotard, wear
comfortable, yet with a dance look, clothes!.Try wearing a T-
shirt or tank with a skirt and leggings!.
4) don't let your hair just dangle around! either tie it up in a
bun like a professional or try to do something where it
won't get in your face!.
I hope your first day turns out awesome! I hope my tips helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have just began ballet this year!. I used to take it when i was little so i knew the basic stuff like (plee ays) and 1st position!. On the first day i just listened carefully and tried not to talk!.
I remembered to:
not be afraid to ask questions
follow people with a little more experience
smile is one big thing
and to dress properly and wear your hair up in a bunWww@QuestionHome@Com

LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR , TAKE A DEEP BREATHE & SAY " I AM THE BEST AND I CAN DO IT !. I KNOW I CAN !."

Oh how excited you must be! I remember my first ballet lesson!.!.!.I was so nervous! I was 16 and had never danced before, so I sort of had reason to be on edge!. Everything went great, though, and I am sure it will be for you!.

PAY ATTENTION!. Enter the class ready to learn!. I don't know what kind of teacher you will have, but some are really strict and others don't give a hoot about how you behave!. Be sure your hair is neatly away from your face and that you are in proper dance attire!. It also helps to follow the other students!. Pick one that seems to be serious and know their stuff!. That's what I did and I was at the top of my class in no time! (I practiced 24/7 and took private lessons, too!.) Over all you need to relax and have fun!. I am sure they don't bite! Just be confidant and ready to learn!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
