Question: Help with ballet muscles!?!?--grande battements!.!.!?
My first dance teacher had too bigger class and so I grasped the habbi of using my quads for grand battements and lifts, but for about a year now I have been trying to get out of the habbit but it is really hard-- any tips on how to get out of the habbit and mucle I should use!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do a lot fo slow extensions out fo develope, using your abs, glutes, back, and yes, quads!.

also, make sure to really stretch your quads, hamstrings, and hip flexors!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Really think about using the under part of your thigh to lift your leg!.!.!.!.you really have to think hard and visualize it because it's definitely harder to do than just use your quads!. Don't grip your leg as you lift it and keep a straight tall back!. also, don't go higher than possible without gripping your quads!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe sit on the floor and tighten the muscle you should be using!. When you see what it feels like for that muscle to be tightened, stand up and practice just tightening that muscle!. Then, practice grande battements, focusing on just tightening that muscle; then, move on to perfecting it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
