Question: When will I be on pointe!?

my teacher said to work on my demi pointes in the summer to get ready for pointe!. am i going on pointe soon!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I took ballet lessons for years, and it all depends on how old you are, how strong you are, and if your teacher thinks you are ready!. Pointe work requires that you have the strength in your legs and feet to keep you securely on your toes to keep the risk of injury down!. If you are going to a good accredited school, your teacher won't put you on pointe before you are ready!. It hurts, though! Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I read everyones ans here they right I would say that you need at least 3 yrs of ballet Im sure that your teacher will know when you are ready for it pointe work is hard this demands full focus your ankles & legs nees need to strong a persons toes always the first thing to get hurt but with the right kind of pointes slippers & fitted right it wont be so bad on the toes if a person is going to buy a pair of them make sure that they fit your feet good you may want to go to a dance supply store for advice on what to get for first pair or your teacher may know what works best for your first pair so on so forth the main thing is here is to focusWww@QuestionHome@Com

pointe is strictly individual!. this is my tenth year of dance - i'm 17 - and i've only just started pointe last year!. when you get the strength and determination for it, you'll get it!.

and also, letting your instructor know that that's what you're aiming for will help!. he/she can maybe some extra help or advice, keep their eye on you, watch your progress more closely!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
