Position:Home>Dancing> I want to work in professional musical theater....but I have a problem!?

Question: I want to work in professional musical theater!.!.!.!.but I have a problem!!?
I can sing and act pretty well!.!.!.but my dancing is not that good!. Well, actually I can learn and memorize a routine and stuff at an audition, but I don't take tap, ballet, or jazz!. I used to take ballet when I was about 3, but that was a long time ago!. I currently take Flamenco, which is probably why I don't have any trouble learning dance steps at auditions!. However, I want to pursue a career in professional musical theater and hopefully end up on Broadway!. Obviously, I want to improve my skills!. The only problem is that taking dance lessons now would probably mean I have to give up another one of my activities, unless I can find a course that my parents agree is OK for me to attend!. I have attended musical theater classes and all that, but once again, it was a long time ago, and so I don't have much Broadway-style dance experience!. I was hoping to audition for a musical theater troupe this year but I am not sure bc/ of my lack of dance experience!. Does anybody have any advice!? ThankWww@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I'd say audition for it anyway!. musical theater dance is usually not that complicated that you absolutely have to be professionally trained!. If you don't have trouble learning dance steps you might be fine!. I'd say go for it because who knows, you might be better at picking up choreagraphy than some of the other people and you might get in! and if you don't, then you know you have something to work on and then you can see about taking a jazz class or another musical theater choreagraphy class!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
