Question: What happens when your pointe shoes get wet!?

Crap, okay!. My pointe shoes got really dirty, and without reading other posts, I decided to wash a few stains off with water!. Apparently bad things will happen!. WHat will happen/ how can i fix it!? -insert scared face-Www@QuestionHome@Com

As long as you didnt drench them, theyll be fine!. If theyre soaked, the glue breaks down in the box and it ruins the shape!.

If they look warped, youre best bet is to try to slavage them by stuffing them with newspaper, or even better, butchers paper, or a shoe stretcher to get it back to some semblance of a foot found in natureWww@QuestionHome@Com

nothing will happen, unless you have totally soaked them!. when i did pointe work we used to put water on the block so our shoes wouldn't slip on the floor and on our heels to mold the shoe and stop it from coming off our heels!

for future reference if you want to clean your shoes use calomine lotion!. while your shoes won't look like the satin ones anymore, more like the canvase ones, it'll have them clean!. and if you have exams you will most likely have to do that to your shoes anyway!. just make sure that after you give them a real good banging cause the dried lotion will be powdery and quiet messy!Www@QuestionHome@Com

nothing will happen!. if theyre fully drenched aroundd the bbox theyr will become weaker and the box can be pushed in easliy but still wearabble!. if this happends try hardeneing them with glue!.

the water might stain ur shoes but nuthing will happend and the wont die earlier or something!.

I did the same haha, nothing happened just make sure you don't do it again!. Make sure there dry again before you do pointe in them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
