HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!

It's called releve!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Being on tip-toe is NOT about height!. A large part of the aesthetic of ballet is the lines you create with your limbs and body!. Being on releve (tip-toe) enhances those lines, and being en pointe (ultimate tip-toe, lol) makes for beautiful lines and also creates the illusion that the dancer is almost floating!. Dance is a performing art, and it's meant to be beautiful to watch!.

also, if companies only hired tall dancers, they could get sued for dsicrimination!. What would short dancers do!? Not make a living!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's called pointe!. It's not to make you taller, it's to make it look more elegant and graceful - almost like you're floating!. Pointe improves lines - it makes legs look longer and the line from hips to toes is more continuous!.

Pointe shoes do not have wood in the toes - ever!. They are usually made paper-and-paste/reinforced canvas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Dancing is movement of the body and it's art!. They go on their tiptoes to balance and look more elegant!. It's also a trick!. It's actually called 'Pointe!.' Ballet is way different from Pointe!. Ballet you don't go way up!. Pointe is where you wear toe-shoes, that have a small piece of wood at the top of the shoe, so it is possible to go up on your tippy-toes!. I'm a dancer, and I have tooken both pointe and ballet!.

Did that help!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not all ballet dancers do pointe, and its part of the rolls they are dancing, it has nothing to do with height!.!.!.I should say, it was a technique developed during the Romantic era to suggest ethereal qualities fof the characters female dancers portrayed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They need to do sharp turns and spin many times!. I would like to see you try to do four spins in a row on one flat foot without touching the other one to the ground!. It is very hard to dance like that so you want to make it as easy as you can!. Get the picture!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its not for height!. And its not ballet, its pointe!. Ballet doesn't go up on tip-toes!. For performance, its for grace and elegance, for practice it strengthens your feet and leg muscles!. I take pointe, but I don't perform with it!. It helps with my other dances!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i s'pose they could, but have you ever seen them dance!? it is amazing, and besides, if they were just hoppin around on flat feet, they would resemble ostriches more than swans!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

cuz it looks really strange on flat feet!. Pointe makes it look more elegant and pointed toes are just part of the sport!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
