Just reading a Rudolf Nureyev biography and it says he had " a rare turned out conformation!.!.!."

Having turnout is to be able to turn the feet outward using your upper leg and butt muscles!. He was just talking about how the person had a really good turn out, or rare turned out feet!. In ballet you want to either have natural turnout or work really hard at it!. It's when ballerinas can do this:

It means the way your body is built!. I!.E!. whether or not you have flat feet, high arches, turned out legs, flexibility etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
