OK, Irish Step Dancing in NOT any less challenging/physically difficult than ballet! I don't know where that person came up with that conclusion!.!.!. I'd say both are fairly equally difficult!.

That said, it's absolutely not too late for you to start!

Step Dance instructors/schools are harder to find than ballet schools, but do some searching online for teachers in your area!. It's gaining a lot of popularity!.

Like someone else said, don't go strictly by what you see in Riverdance!.!.!. It's Step Dancing, but with a flashy, showy, modernized twist(not to say it's bad!. In fact, I love it! But pure step dancing is not that glitzy-glam)!. also, both disciplines are going to take a lot of work to get good at!. But, it's totally worth the work! So much fun! :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

Step dancing (Irish dancing) is every bit as physically demanding as ballet!. It is more difficult to find instruction, though!.

My sister started at 7!. It took her 6 years to be good enough to dance at a fesh (Step dancing contest)!. It's hard work but a lot of fun!.

Don't take Riverdance too seriously!. It is not classic step dancing but it's great to watch!.

Good luck & enjoy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ballet generally you have to start at a young age (especially if you wan to pursue it as a career) but if it is just an interest and not a career path - any age is fine!. Irish dance is an easier discipline!. Ballet is very demanding physically!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
