Don't worry - ballet is hard, perhaps the hardest form of dance (not to discourage you)!. I was a huge fan of ballet - I got into the School of American Ballet and you have to work really hard (which I'm sure you're already doing)!. Try stretching more and definitely do not force your turnout as it ruins your knees (looking at my ruined knees sadly)!. Turnout should come from your hips so work on the frog stretch (it really does work, believe me - this girl in my class had awful turnout and she did the frog stretch everday and she got much better) and try doing side/straddle splits!. Never ever give up, girl!!!! I decided I didn't want to go to SAB and there are so many days when I wish I had so never give up your dreams! Dance from your heart and you'll do fine! Email me if you feel down - just work hard and do your best!. Best of luck! - Saleisha at countingnotes@yahoo!.comWww@QuestionHome@Com

Don't worry too much! I have both of the same problems, but it hasn't stopped me from getting good parts in The Nutcracker and other performances! Don't push your turnout, but stretch it a little more every day!. As for balance, STAND ON ONE FOOT! My ballet teacher has always told us to do it, and it works miracles! It helps you balance and strenghtens your arch!. Doing releves also helps, because they strengthen your ankles!. Just push yourself to the limit, and you'll feel like you're working a lot harder! Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i can't ballet for my life!.!.!.i've never been trained!. i can't balance either!. and i bet my turnout is more suckish than yours!. mostly because i have no idea what you are talking about!.!.!.!.

i say talk to your dance teacher!. and practice practice practice!.!.!.but you've probably heard that too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My ballet master ALWAYS tells me that I have never stopped improving but i feel that i haven't improved in months!. also, your not going to notice yourself improving!. and if you can't have a great deal of confidence in yourself because you will get your bubble busted in the end!. If your trying, and you do everything you can for a couple of years, someone will want you and you will make it!. (with proper training)!.

To open your hip sockets and improve your turnout sit in a straddle and roll head first until your sitting on top of it!.
It sucks, of course!. after holding it for a while!. roll through
and do it again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know exactly how you feel!. I just started ballet this last year, and I was having sooo much trouble!. I never knew what the heck they were talking about, especially since all the other girls have already been in ballet for years!! I still tried my hardest and improved!. And, instead of just pretending like I knew what they were talking about, I made sort of a joke out of it that I didn't know fancy French talk!.!.!.that really helped!. Then the teacher started explaining things in English!.!.!.
Just, ask questions and try really hard not to get discouraged!. Don't compare yourself to others!. Just know, you're doing the best you can, and if you keep trying, you'll someday reach your dream of becoming a pro!. Know that all your efforts are going toward your dream!. If you quit, what else is there to work for!?!? Nothing!.!.!.if that is your true passion!.
Don't give up!.!.!.you'll improve unless you give up!. also, have fun with it!! Good luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
