How do you keep point shoe ribbons from unraveling?

Question: How do you keep point shoe ribbons from unraveling!?

My point shoe ribbons keep unraveling at the ends! I heard that you can burn the ends with a match but I have no clue how to do that without setting my shoe on fire!. How do you do that, or anything else that might work!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes burning the ends will keep them from doing that!. just wave the end of the ribbon through the fire back and forth just a few times!. make sure it is the very tip of the ribbon or else it could catch on fire (i've had the experience!!)!. you could also paint the tips with some clear nail polish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You dont have to burn the tips!. You can just hold them over the fire so the fibers fuse together!.
You could also paint the ends with clear nail polish
You could also put a little bit of hairspray or mouse on the ends too!.

(Pretty much anything sticky or hot that could help the fibers fuse together)Www@QuestionHome@Com

i always have my teacher do it, she takes a lighter and makes the flame, then holds the end of the ribbon and just burns it fot a few seconds, and they dont unravel, im sure if you ask your instructer theyll do it for you!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

ummmmm what you can do is either ask your dance teacher for any ideas or with someone you know you can burn the tips so they dont fray or maybe dont cut them in the first place!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

burn the ends a little bit & as soon as they burn the ends dip the ends in water
or cut off the unraveled part & then cover the ends with clear nail polish

You can quickly pass the ends through the flame ofa lighter, stitch them down, use clear nail polish, dip them in wax!.!.!.theres a billion ways!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
