Any dance teachers out there?

Question:

So I have some really awful stage moms!. Recital is coming up in about 3 weeks and some of these moms are breathing down my back and making it really difficult to do my job!. They go to my boss with complaints and then because their child can't dance very well, things get blown up into this huge deal!. They make it really hard for me to do my job and for the rest of the girls in the class! I even had parents complain about my professional headshot! WOW!

How do you deal with really bad stage moms, but without being bitchy like they are!?
I am very passionate about my job and I looove teaching the kids! I tend to take things very personally so when things like this happens it really irks me!. Boy did the tears flow tonight!

I would always respond with:
"Thank you mam, but I'll take care of it as soon as I can!."
If they keep going on or being stupid:
"Mam, why don't you just enjoy the recital, and let me do my job!."

Okay,you really have to tell the parents that it is your job to be a dance instructor and not there job to tell you what to do!.It is a matter of talking to the parents calmly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Can you just have a close rehearsal!? You are there to teach and not to hear their complains!. If the mom's are complaining they should just find themselves another instructor that can tolerate them!. Don't let yourself be picked on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
