Question: I'm having trouble with pointe!.!.!.!.!?
I'm having trouble learning pointe!. I have very high arches and I always feel like I have a hard time getting up onto my shoe even though I have been taking pointe for quite some time!. I feel like my shoes are not supportive enough!. Is it possible that the problem is my shoe or do I simply need to practice more!? I wear Bloch and I have tried Capezio!. Does Grishko have a stronger more supportive shank!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It sounds like your feet aren't strong enough!.

Use a theraband for about 30 minutes each night!. that should start fixing the problem in a couple of weeks!.

also, if your shanks are breaking quickly then you need a harder shank!. A harder shank will not help you get onto pointe easier, but it will help you be stable once you are on pointe!.

If your foot feels like you are falling forward when on pointe look for a shoe with a longer vamp!.

If anything it sounds like you might need a shoe with a harder box or harder wings!.

Talk with your teacher about your concerns!. Show them your difficulties and ask for help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

High arched feet shouldn't have a hard time going over the box, it seems to be that your shanks are too hard and your feet aren't strong enough yet!. Invest in a thereband and make sure youre stretching your arches and ankles regularly!.
Blochs are harder than capezios, generally speaking, Grishkos are harder than Blochs!. Depending which style Bloch and Capezio you wear, Grishko is probably not the way to go, considering both the hardness of the shank and the shape fo the shoe itself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It could be both your shoe and your feet arn't strong enough!. To make your feet stronger try using the thera band to do strenghting excersises!.
I'd go and get some pointe shoes fitted properly as you need to try on as many different makes as well as styles!. Grishko certenly has a strong shank and comes in different strengths!. Try using elastics on the back of the shoe to give extra support!.
High arches don't effect the strength of your foot!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

sounds like your feet aren't strong enough!. use a thera band to help strengthen your feet, and do slow tondues (do them as if your foot were a cow's tongue licking the floor)!.

that should help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
