Question: Switch Leap!?
How can i perfect my switch leap for Poms tryouts in June!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

practice this, it REALLY helps! practice going across the floor with a shasay (or runs), bring your leg up like you're leaping, but instead of actually leaping and switching, keep your back leap leg on the floor, and switch the front leg to the back as you jump straight off the foot on the floor (you should go from your leg extended in front into arabesque)!. its kind of like fouettes (the jump kind, not the turns) but instead of your body switching directions, your leg switches!. it does feel awkward, but it helps your leaps a lot!
***you can do this without the runs and shasays; you can just bring your leg forward and back with the jump while standing in place***
this helps your leg to get the feeling of what it needs to do as u are doing the switch leap!. practice on both sides, or whatever side youll need for tryouts!. after you get the hang of switching just the one leg, practice the leaps!. it helps if u think of pushing the back leg forward, as you already will know how to move the front one back!. its a tricky move thats tough to fully master, but with a whole lot of practice, you will be able to do a pretty decent one!. best of luck at your tryouts!Www@QuestionHome@Com

well first of all, do you need them for both sides or just like a right switch leap or left switch leap!?!?

first work on normal leaps and then when you have those perfected- move onto switch!. make sure you can do a split and stay in the spilt for a few minutes

if you practice everyday i can guarantee you'll have them by june

good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

In your actual jump, keep your chest, chin, and focus up!. Not up at the ceiling, but slightly higher than directly in front of you!. It really helps you get enough height to complete the switch!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sit in both splits and just rotate right midel left and them switch and then Practice makes perfectWww@QuestionHome@Com
