Question: Can rhythm be learned!?

Yes!. You need to try and focus your listening skills into on the beat, rather than on the melody!. When you listen to a piece of music, don't pay attention to anything but the percussion and bass; that is where all the rhythm is!. When you dance, the melody is not very important, its the bass and percussion that you base movement on!. That is why many people have such a hard time learning how to salsa or bomba when it is not in their blood!. Try learning how to double dutch if you don't know how to do that!. That is all about having rhythm and good timing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, It can be learned, I didn't have any rhythm when I started dancing, but after a few months I started getting better!. Now I can do all kinds of stuff on rhythm, I can dance, contact juggle, I can even play the drums on a electric piano and keep a rhythm!. Dancing is a great way to learn how to keep a rhythm!. also, If you listen to music, listen to the percussion instruments!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yeah i was pretty bad with the whole rhythm thing when i first started dancing and hardly even noticed if i was off!. now even just being the teensiest bit off, i'll notice!. so i'm gonna say yes, it can be learned!. just work on listening to the beats of your favorite songs (start off with slow ones)!. just practice clapping it!. you'll get better and soon it'll be obvious to you when you are and aren't on beat with the clapping!. once you've gotten good at this, work on doing simple dance moves on beat!. the more you practice, the better you'll get!.

best of luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
