Question: Dancers Opinions!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
Okay so here goes!.!.!.
I had been dancing for about 5 years, then i quit to do synchronized swimming!. Now, im going into highschool and i got into a special program where i can do dance as a major!. I guess i didnt really do that well because i was put into the lowest class, i wanted to know what sort of things could help me excell!. Extra practice!? I know i have trouble with pirouettes, so some advice on that would be really helpful too

just keep dancing! study the moves, steps, positions!. it would also help if you told me what type of dance you have been doing!. my advice is buy a DVD from discountdance!.com they are wonderful!. i hope you have fun!. good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You might want to look up on the internet/ youtube here they have step by step instructions on basically everything!
Try watching some dance movies like center stage, save the last dance, step up!.!. these are great because they have some bits of ballet, modern and jazz!.

You can also enroll into a dancer studio!. maybe once a week!.!. even though your in a program!.!. try out a school!.!. your teacher will be more then willing to help you out!

Yes!.!. yes practice makes perfect! And its true!.!. the thinks you learn you'll need to recap on it, and think to yourself!.!. have i mastered this be honest!.!. make a list!.!. try and tick off atleast one thing every week!.!.

If you'd like some help on pirouettes!.!. dont ask me!.!. lol im very bad at them!.!. i still cant do a triple pirouette!

But i can suggest you video tape yourself doing a pirouette!.!. mark out what you lack and whats your bad habit!.!. keep working !.!. next week video tape again!.!. and compare!.!.!!

Some things that you should work on are:
→Flexibility
So all of your splits, devellope's, penche's etc!.

→Multiple Turns
Make sure that your core is nice and strong and spot like there is no tomorrow!. Shoulders down, hair back and stomach tight!. This should help

→Jumps/Leaps
Jete's are a lot easier as soon as you get your splits, this will then help with split jumps (toe touches)!.

To practice with pirouettes u can do like just balanceing with out the turn!. like just prep and up and balance without the turn!. That will help u balance so u can turn longer!. Practice ur
spotting too!. Strech a lot!!! That will help u with everything!. Like jeters and stuff!!!

i have troubles with that too so what i suggest is to actually take time one day and practice in front of a mirro or wall and look at your feets and spot what is wrong!.That really helped me hope it works!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
