I suggest you buy a theraband (you can get a 3 pack at target for $10!.!.!. the yellow is the weakest, red the middle, and blue the most resistand) start strengthening your ankles!. Talk to your teacher and see why she doesnt want you to go on pointe!. She may have a valid reason!. When you do get put on pointe it is going to suck breaking in your shoes!. You might have to go through a few pairs before you find the perfect shoe for your feet!. Basically breaking in your shoes is going to be bloody and painfull (invest in bandaids and neosporian!) but it will be really rewarding if you love dance as much as I think you do!Www@QuestionHome@Com

When you get pointe u noramlly dance 8 hrs a week!. you can NOT start pointe unless ur teacher says you CAN, she knows more then you do about dancing on pointe!. If you are allready doing 5 hrs a week, u should be able to get them next yr!. you have to be mentally and physically ready, pointe takes hard work, and Patients/ when you get ur pointe shoes, your teacher will tell you everything you need to know about them, keep working hard, your almost there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

ive dance for six years and i am not on pointe!. this is because my teacher says no!. exactly like you!. are your ankles ready, that is the only thing holding me back!. i am still to young and my ankle bones have not finished growing together!. ask your teacher about that and maybe then see a doctor about it!. good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com

Sounds like its all there,,

try believing that you can do it,,Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not only the feet and ankles, it is also the execution, posturde, balance, etc!. Can you do the steps correctly!? Even ballerinas who are on pointe still practice in slippers!. Just keep practicing; think maybe next year!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Talk to your teacher and ask her why exactly does she not think you are ready for pointe but be very polite and definitely not rude!. Maybe you are not using the right muscles while you are dancing!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's really not true that you have to be on pointe 8 hours a week unless you are positive that you want to be a professional dancer!. I think it sound like you need to find a new studio!. I did ballet for two years (i started when i was in 9th grade) before i started pointe, and this is my second year!. AND you are dancing 2 hours a week more than i was my first two years!.
I really think you need to go to a studio that isn't going to hold you back due to their own laziness!. You could so do it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Switch studios, I'd say!.!.!.
have your teachers bend your shoes for you, also!. When you start, that is!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
