Question: How to memorize choreo faster!? Tips or tricks!?
I am currently on a dance team (Hip-Hop) right now where whenever I learn new Choreography, others can get it down faster than me and do the whole section on the spot without any hesitation!.

But don't get me wrong, its not that I just suck and it's easy choreo i'm doing, its like workshops from Chill Factor to PAC modern!.

So any tips or tricks or even advice to get choreo down on the spot!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. Watch closely the first time!.

3!. Assign simple terms to technical ones!. (ex!.jete=leap, pirouette=turn)
4!. Make up a story with the choreography!.
5!. After practice dance it a few more times!.

7!. Go over it in your head as much as possible!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

By constantly marking it every spare second you have!. When your teacher is going to the stereo go over it, when he/she is talking go over it in your head etc

Try and associate specific movements to counts!. So count in your head 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8!. Not only will this help you remembering the choreo but it will keep you in time!.

Some people also dance with sounds to help them remember, so bom cha, bom bom cha!. I personally don't do it but I have met a lot that does!.

I hope this helps :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Constantly mark, and write it down as many times as you can!. I have a lot of trouble with that too!. ;-PWww@QuestionHome@Com

right after you learn it, practice it slowly a few times slowly as soon as you have the chance (like during a water break or if people are just talking or something) this way you'll remember the actual moves and won't forget parts and you'll do them right because you're taking your time!. because everyone else is just kind of taking a break at this point, it's a perfect opportunity to ask about something you're having trouble with!. now right when you get home after practice, practice it slowly and quickly for a little bit just to make sure you still remember it!. sometimes when i wait a few days before practicing i'll forget a few moves so it's best to do it while it's still fresh in your mind!. you just gotta keep trying and don't give up!. you'll improve over time and eventually will get it right on the spot, it just takes work!.

best of luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mark!. A lot!. practice every moment you have!. also, i went to dance camp for my highschool dance team once and we learned a hiphop dance, and the teacher came up with a "story" to help us remember the moves!. my elementary school gym teacher also did the same thing with the macerena!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
