Dear Sick of Only Ballet Shoes,

find a trusted article in the newspaper or online about pointe and show it to your parents!. carefully explain to them about what exactly you'll be doing and how much shoes and extra classes will cost!. make surte they know every aspect of it and if you act mature like an adult they'll understand!. if its your dream your parents should be able to believe in you and help you in every way possible!. also having a meeting with your ballet teacher and parents would be a great thing and she/he could help explain to your parents that your ready and that you'll do fine!.

good luck and i hope you make it! :-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you really want to, tell your parents it means ALOT to you if you can do pointe!. Offer to help pay for classes or extra chores!. Yes your ready for pointeWww@QuestionHome@Com

Have your teacher talk to them!. However, you might consider jazz or lyrical, pointe will kill your feet, maybe that's your parents problem with it!? Let them know it's actually not as bad as it used to be though, the shoes are more supportive than in the past!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm sure that you really do want to go en pointe (what girl wouldn't!?) but if you've only been dancing for ONE day a week -- even if you've been dancing for four years-- to be honest, you probably aren't ready!. Pointe requires a dancer to be completely serious in the art and totally committed to dance!. If you want to prove to your parents that you are ready, I would consider taking more classes a week to prepare yourself for pointe -- strengthening muscles, feet, etc!. And if you're teacher says that you are ready from only dancing for one day a week, then I might consider switching studios!. Pointe requires a dancer to be already strong in technique and body strength, and if they are not, they not only risk injury but permanent damage to their feet!. Some teachers will convince their students to go en pointe in order to make more money (because pointe requires students to go to twice or more as many classes)!. So I would consider the true motives of your teacher as well!. Whatever you choose to do, just consider YOUR health and yourself in addition to your dreams!.!.!.but keep on dancing and I'm sure you will go on pointe someday-- when you are ready!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The fact that you only take one class a week means that you're not ready for pointework!. You need to be strong and technically proficient to do pointe, and one class a week isn't enough to get you to the level you need to be at!. My dance teacher won't let anyone taking less than 3 classes a week start pointe, and there are specific things she looks for, such a good balance, keeping your weight over your first two toes in releve (not sickling), strong ankles, feet, and calves, and good technique!.

If your studio is putting you en pointe when you're only taking one class a week, they don't know what they're doing at all!. Find a studio that actually cares about the safety of their students and has good teachers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If your teacher says your ready, than your ready!. Try explaining it to your parents and that it means a lot to u!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
