Question: Starting pointe at 18!?
Is 18 too late to go en pointe!? Ive been dancing since i was 6, its never been a serious thing though its more of just a hobby, However i have worked harder in the last 5 years or so than any of the other time!. I will be 18 in July and i know my next grade (after i take exams) requires pointe work!. None of my friends are en pointe my dance teacher doesnt want us to rush into things but ive heard that once you hit 18 usually you dont go en pointe!?

It would be such a shame as the last 5 years have been work for me and i dont want to get to 18 and suddenly them turn around and say no!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Of course you can start at 18, and it is actually better because your feet are already strong, and you are familiar with ballet movements :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

U can start en pointe whenever really!. Ur feet are really strong now so it will be easier than for most ballet dancers!. They will let you go en pointe!. Dont worry lol

My b-day's July 16!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oh ya! if you have like been dancing for years then there no problem because you have to ballet backround!. Maybe you should try a pre-pointe class first just to strenghthen your ankles and feet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
