Pas de basque is very hard to explain just through written direction. Ask your teacher for help on that one. As for balances (I think you mean the step where you go side to side), they are in a 3-count, like a waltz. do a small develope out to the side with one leg and plie onto it. Then bring the other leg to back coupe and step onto it in releve. Then transfer your weight to the other foot in releve. You should think 'down, up, up' in your head. This is also a hard one to explain, so ask your teacher for help on this, too. A good teacher will spend a few minutes with you after class if you need extra help. Both of these steps are kind of hard because they take coordination, and I can't help you understand that without being there.

A pas de basque Moving leg side to side) starts in third position. Arms and hands are placed in front of the body and slightly curved. Take your right leg and bring it to the right, pointing the toes. The left foot and toe point to the back. Repeat the movement a little faster, then switch legs to the left.
As for improving balances, make sure you are spotting and pulling up from your center.

balance is strange not like stretching one day you will just feel it and then you will have it .
i was always on rise with my leg at petite reterie just balancing to improve my chances of finding my centre.

Fact: you are never actually on balance. you are actually at a stage of falling everytime you think your balancing and your brain feels you move to the side ,then will use muscles more to get you up again.
By practising your brain learns how to do this.

Pas de basques.
from fifth
Glissade to side finishing in petite reterie front en fondue.

then step forward into tondue derriere and close to fifth.

pas de basque going to StageLeft: 1/2 randejan en le air (very low), step to tsu tsu, thats all. there are more complicated variations of it, but since you dont know what it is to begiin with you should start with the basic one.
balanceas: be on your highest pointe, be quick, let your arms be graceful just because your feet go fast dont let your arms get jerky, same goes for head.
