Just practice really hard everyday. That's what i did before when i was having a hard time doing them too. But our teacher gave us a technique that maybe can work for you too. Put one hand on the barre while facing front(the barre at your left/right) then fondu with one leg straight up in 90* angle then whip it to your side while turning. I know it may seem hard at first, but once you do it everyday, you'll be able to see the improvement in you fouttee's. Good Luck and keep practicing!!! :D

It is really just and illusion but if you really wanna practice that do the motion in place with your arms and your leg opening and closing at the right times or hold your leg up on a barstool so you know where your leg should go then practice in place

Make sure to get your spotting, and the opening of your arms and leg in synch. Also, make sure you get a deep demi plia (not sure how to spell, sorry) cuase that will give you momentum.

I did what gosspigirl did...tried and true...really good for helpijng to learn placement

well when you prep be sure that everything is faceing front and take a deep plie. once you turn and start to turn on relavae, whip that leg out. but be sure not to whip it so much that your leg is behind you. if your not sure where your leg should be well get on the floor into 2nd or a strattle. once you know where your leg is get up and try again. your leg should stop at the ame spot everytime to pull into your pose.
when doing fortes its important to be in your turn out all the time. when your leg is extended your knee should be up toward the ceiling.
if you feel like your wobbling or about to fall that might mean that the side of your hip of the leg you are forte-ing with is too high and out of balance or your not completly up straight. be sure your hips are square and your core is tight :)
