Pay attention to the rhythmn and the footwork first. Listen to what they say when they do the step and memorize it like a song. Sing that song to yourself while you execute the movement. Arms and head direction are important. Figure out what parts are most important, they are not looking for perfection but, ability and desire. If you forget something - do anything until you get back on track. Never stand still or look "stupid" cover up your mistakes by making it obvious in a professional manner (keep dancing). Stand in the second line (not the front). Try to go with people who know the steps well.

practice,practice, and more practice!
keep repeating the steps over and over again and your muscle memory will kick in and automatically do the steps when thinking about them.

also before going to bed at night close your eyes and go through the whole dance in your head a couple of times.

when I need to remember dances i just do them over and over again...thats pretty much the only way to memorize them.. I always find myself spacing out and running through my dances in my head

just practice and go over them in your head.. and try your best

practice it, go over it in your head, or make a video of the dance and watch it.

The first thing I could tell you is to practice, and pratice some more. Practice with friends or by yourself...

Another thing would be to instead of count, put words to the motions. The counts get confusing after a long part of the dance is over, but the words will just come..

Another is to listen closly to the music carefully while doing the dance, after your comfortable doing it. If you get stuck, sometimes listening to the music can help you catch your place in a dance.

go through the dance as many times as you need to every day, whether marking it or dancing it full out or just going over the steps in your head.

also you can try writing it down, thats what i do sometimes, like i just had my spring break and the last class i took before going on vacation was a private lesson for my solo in my studio's spring recital, and my teacher threw a LOT of choreography at me so i wrote it all down as soon as i got home and now i dont have to worry about forgetting it because my teacher is very forgetful!
