Position:Home>Dancing> Is it ok for my friend to say that she is a perfectionist?

Question:She is a wonderful dancer. She is writing a college admission essay about her talent but was wondering if it is ok to put that she is a perferctionist when it came to dance? She keeps dancing until she hits it. Sometimes friends see her perform and thinks that the performance was great but she says that inside she does not do as well as she could, that she is the only 1 who can really tell when she dance well and as a choreographer, when her students 're on stage with her, she can feel when they're'nt doing a great job even if she is in the front and can't see them. She said that she can know it by listening to their foot steps and there's an invisible things between her dancers and her that make her know when the energy is down. Anyhow, she is a perfectionist in the sense that she wants her students to learn the dances well till they become almost as good as her. She always tell them that they have great potential, so she push them untill they give their best.

Perfectionist has a negative connotation to it, she could she has high standards for herself and works hard to achieve her goals.

She can say she has high expectations for herself and is dedicated/determined to do her best. Perfectionist is ok to use as long as she carefully explains what she means.

(Er I didn't read your whole question, it's long.)

I'd say that it was fine if she explained what she means there. It seems to me that she wants her students to reach their full potential as any good teacher should want of her students.

i dont think she have to use the world perfectionist! it has a negative meaning for some others who are better than her, like the ones who will accept her! this word sounds too cocky and means like shes above everybody! its like even a dance legend doesnt do a perfect job as her! can u see the negative part? she just have to say she has experienced in dancing in several places and she will do her best 2 work on their protocol (wherever she'll be teaching)
