lyrical piece to metal and screamo music-what do you think?

Question:I'm sick of doing soft, pretty, safe routines. I'm going fall on out there-CRAAZZYYYYY!

But consider the following factors before you get really scared:

-My best friend is a DJ, so he's going to make the music awesome...so it won't be all strange

-My choreography will suit the music and it won't be all weird..

Lets hope that I don't have an 80 year old adjudicator like usual, we might have a heart attack on our hands....

I'm into this style of music, so I can't wait! Unless you really think I'm crazy and convince me not to do it LOL.

I'm not exactly sure. I don't like screamo music in the sense that it is pretty loud and hurts my ears (not to mention hard to dance to!), but if your friend is doing it and knows your personality, that would be cool. I also like this idea because it is different, fresh, original, and exciting, and could turn out GREAT! Since you mentioned you enjoy the music, it could be a really passionate, flavourful (is that a word?) dance. I think you should try it; risks can turn out better than the safe "typical" dances, and in the very least no one will be bored!!!

So, GO FOR IT!!! and remember to tell us Y!/A obsessed people and all of your contacts (I'm one of them!) how it goes down :)

contemporary and lyrical is all about telling a story...so as long as you can still tell the story of the music through your choreography then you will be cool! Be very careful though! make sure you show many people and see if the dance makes sense to them before you compete with it! good luck i hope you can brake the trend!

i love that ... some people are doing a contemporary dance to a song by tool.. i love it.. good luck..and yes..getting 80 year old judges SUCK

omg im not the only one who feels the same way as you do! i always make up dances to screamo music i put in some blessthefall and bust out in fouttes or the used even tho they arnt scremo

Hey, I say go for it. You're not the first person to do this --- I've actually seen a few pieces like this in some of dance festivals. If done tastefully, it will turn out great!

I think it would be better to do something familiar and jazz it up a little.
I have no idea of what 'screamo' is but I know if I hear something I don't like it will upset my judgement.
I have been known to leave peoples houses that I have been invited to visit because a I don't like the music they are playing, or playing it too loudly and they will not change it if asked.

I've never seen a person dance to screamo, but it sounds like it would look interesting. Go for it XD

Sounds awesome. I'm sure it'll come out great. It's unique, creative, your own style, and sounds like fun. Isn't that what dancing is all about xD

at my school, one of the girls did that!
she actually doesn't choreograph much other than to rock songs...and this other girl did a choreo to paint it black by rolling stones heres a video of that...
