Is a poms team the same thing as cheerleading???

Question:it is similar; cheerleaders perform a dance similar to pom, but it is not as complex or in depth as just doing pom dancing. cheerleading also using stunting and tumbling. pom dancers use pom poms (most cheerleaders do not unless they are a school team, rather than a comp team.) also, pom dancers do turns and leaps while cheerleaders dont.

They are very similar.
A poms team does not cheer teams on during games and they participate in competitions for dancing and not for cheerleading. Poms teams are more influenced by dance while cheerleading is more based upon gymnastics.

No. Pom teams tend to focus on dancing with poms. Whenever I've watched it, it seems to be a mix of jazz modern and ballet.

I'm a cheerleader and I know what I do deffinitely isn't pom dancing. Cheerleading also consists of stunting and tumbling as well as the dance and jumps in pom.

poms is definatly more jazzy then cheerleading
it has more dance to it then cheering and no stunting. :)
