Question:I was just at a feis. I got really low marks because I had a hole in the toe of my soft shoe! I know it's unfair. My mom says that I should fix them....... How?

Yup, you definitely need to buy a new pair. They're not that expensive -- well, they're probably the cheapest item in your feis costume -- and the adjudicators do rank your appearance as well as your dancing. This won't be the first pair of shoes you wear out! Happy dancing!

Take them to a cobbler, sew a patch, or buy a new pair.

Seriously, if there's a hole in your ghillies, you need to buy new ones, Even leather stitch won't hold long on a dance shoe. If you don't have time right now and have a feis coming up, a bit of electrical tape adhered to the inside of the shoe could buy you some time
