Position:Home>Dancing> My first Jazz/Ballet technique class is on wednesday. What should I wear?

Question:I have Jazz shoes, and tights. The school said I need jazz shoes- which I have, and close fitting clothing--they called it semi-something, and I don't know what I should wear and what would look good...I want to feel comfortable.

You could wear a leotard and a pair of jazz pants, or a skirt. I always hated leotards, because I felt fat, so I wore pants over them.

You can buy jazz pants at any dance shop, or the school might sell them. Don't worry it's your first class, they won't kill you if you're not dressed correctly. My advice, DRESS HOW YOU THINK YOU SHOULD DRESS. Then, they can correct you when you get there.

and you won't have spent money on unnessacery items. In fact, you could wear a tank top and cheer shorts (soffees) or a tank top and sweat pants. Then, you can buy all the supplies you need after class.

good luck!

If u have a leatard i would suggest that... if not a tank top would work.. i would aslso wear some strechy athletic pants if u have some over the leatard.. i have never been to a ballet class but i think i would suggest this. Make sure it tis somehting u can move in.. & that u are comfortable... so u can do ur best.. good luck

Most classes will have you wear a leotard and tights so they can correct you. At least in Ballet they do, I'm pretty sure they do that for Jazz too.

If you have a very sexy body and a beautiful face, I would suggest nothing.

(You have to be over 18 to use my suggestion)

At my dance school for ballet you wear a leotard and tights and for jazz a leotard tights and jazz pants

wear a halter leotard with jersey material short shorts

In my dance school we wear a leotard, tights, and a skirt for ballet and tap. For jazz we wear a leotard, and jazz pants with our tights under them. You can get dancewear at some department stores like Target.

Ok, so I don't know how strict your studio is or what exactly a Jazz/ballet class is, but i do know alot about them seperately. For a jazz class, usually people wear a leotard, and jazz pants, or a reg. shirt and jazz pants. For ballet, you usually wear a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. Do you have ballet shoes? if not jazz ones should be fine.

Also, just as long as it is some type of tight clothing, they won't get mad since it is your first class. At the end of class if you can, just go up to the teacher and ask her if what you were wearing was ok for future classes, and what they exactly expect you to wear.
